Becca is a nurse and PhD student at the UPenn School of Nursing, where she studies Nursing Informatics and how data and technology can be used to help older adults age at home and in the community. Becca was a camp counselor at Camp M.I. Way, a summer camp for children with multiple impairments, for 6 summers. She used augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technology to help the kids communicate and experience the camp environment. Becca also previously used AAC technology with adult patients in the intensive care unit who were temporarily unable to speak because of a breathing tube. She started learning to code in 2014, and she is excited to combine her interest in tech and passion for working with people with disabilities through volunteering with EvoXLabs.
