Dr. Bilofsky has been an international leader in informatics for Life Science Research for over three decades. He was an early pioneer in Bioinformatics, having created and led landmark applications and organizations such as the EBI and GenBank. As a VP and Senior Director in GSK's R&D division, he led several IT groups including the Advanced Information Technology and Knowledge Engineering departments. Dr. Bilofsky helped create the US subsidiary of a European software startup recently acquired by Perkin-Elmer. He is co-Founder and Chair of BioBlox Inc, a University City Science Center startup focused on innovative approaches to assistive technology.
